Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall B+
ValueB+ NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Commanders and Emmanwori: B+.

If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Commanders, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.

On value alone, Emmanwori makes the weekend a net positive. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick42 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
They barely believed it either: Nick Emmanwori still on the board at the 42nd pick. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick63 Rnd2 TreVeyon Henderson
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing TreVeyon Henderson in pick No. 63. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick73 Rnd3 Tate Ratledge
No drama and no debate, Tate Ratledge went about where he belonged in No. 73. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick128 Rnd4 Dorian Strong
Nothing to complain about; Dorian Strong went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick133 Rnd4 Jeffrey Bassa
Jeffrey Bassa is a better player than pick 133 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick145 Rnd5 Hollin Pierce
Fair-plus on Hollin Pierce, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick205 Rnd6 KeAndre Lambert-Smith
KeAndre Lambert-Smith in No. 205 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick245 Rnd7 CJ Dippre
CJ Dippre at Round 7, Pick 29 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
