The search is over. The Bears handed the keys to Drake Maye, and the whole operation now runs on his development.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped linebacker, which is a strange place to end up. The veteran additions, James Conner chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

On the needs board they went 7 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
