Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
A franchise passer in Maye headlines a B weekend for the Falcons.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Falcons spent their marquee pick on Drake Maye, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. No fireworks, but a solid B.

The McGlothern value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Hall Jr. has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Drake Maye
In slot 8 they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick43 Rnd2 Chris Braswell
A reasonable price with a little left over, Chris Braswell in Round 2, Pick 11. It fills a real need, too.
Pick74 Rnd3 Michael Hall Jr.
They went early on Michael Hall Jr. in No. 74, and the value did not follow. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick109 Rnd4 J. Michael Sturdivant
Value with a capital V on J. Michael Sturdivant in the 109th pick, a genuine coup. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick145 Rnd5 Javon Foster
Nice patience on Javon Foster, who had no business lasting to pick No. 145. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick189 Rnd6 Josh Proctor
Josh Proctor at the Round 6 slot is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick201 Rnd6 Bru McCoy
Bru McCoy slipping to the 201st overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick244 Rnd7 Dwight McGlothern
Circle this one: Dwight McGlothern at pick 244 is a fall that decides a draft. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
