Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B
ValueB NeedB- TradesA- FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Packers and Flournoy: B.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Packers were there to profit. Ryan Flournoy, the No. 195 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick No. 219. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. They will answer for taking linebacker early while quarterback, running back and other spots went begging. The Carlies reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Byron Murphy II
A clean, defensible pick in slot 25 with a little surplus value in Byron Murphy II. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick41 Rnd2 Payton Wilson
By-the-book stuff, Payton Wilson at No. 41 squarely in line with his ranking. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick59 Rnd2 T.J. Tampa
No edge and no loss on T.J. Tampa in the Round 2 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick88 Rnd3 Cole Bishop
Cole Bishop at the 88th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick92 Rnd3 Roger Rosengarten
Roger Rosengarten at pick No. 92 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick123 Rnd4 Javon Foster
Javon Foster at pick 123 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick126 Rnd4 Cedric Gray
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went linebacker with Cedric Gray while clear needs at quarterback, running back and other spots sat open.
Pick169 Rnd5 Sataoa Laumea
Good price on Sataoa Laumea in the 169th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick202 Rnd6 Javion Cohen
A reasonable price with a little left over, Javion Cohen in pick 202. The roster fit checks out.
Pick219 Rnd6 Ryan Flournoy
Ryan Flournoy in the 219th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick220 Rnd6 Tyrice Knight
Tyrice Knight at Round 6, Pick 45 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick245 Rnd7 Eric Watts
Eric Watts at pick No. 245 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick255 Rnd7 Jaylon Carlies
They went early on Jaylon Carlies in the 255th overall pick, and the value did not follow. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
