Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Bills: B-.

The Bills spent real capital to be 135 picks early on Richard Jibunor, and the board is going to hold them to it. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

The Bills indulged a want in Sainristil while a need in edge rusher and quarterback stayed open. Getting Puni where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

On the needs board they went 7 of 9, with linebacker the one that mattered most.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Kool-Aid McKinstry
In the 32nd overall pick they get an island corner, and a steal at that. Need was not the driver here.
Pick60 Rnd2 Xavier Worthy
They let Xavier Worthy come to them and pounced at the 60th pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick95 Rnd3 Johnny Wilson
Johnny Wilson in No. 95 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick99 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
Of all the spots to shop, they chose cornerback. Mike Sainristil in the Round 3 slot leaves edge rusher and quarterback for later.
Pick128 Rnd4 Dominick Puni
Dominick Puni at pick No. 128 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick134 Rnd4 Cedric Gray
They paid sticker price for Cedric Gray in slot 134, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick162 Rnd5 Braelon Allen
Good price on Braelon Allen in No. 162, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It fills a real need, too.
Pick165 Rnd5 Kitan Oladapo
By-the-book stuff, Kitan Oladapo at Round 5, Pick 29 squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick197 Rnd6 Trevor Keegan
Trevor Keegan at pick 197 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick202 Rnd6 Richard Jibunor
Richard Jibunor in the 202nd pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Hard to map this one onto the depth chart at all.
Pick206 Rnd6 Evan Anderson
Value said wait; Evan Anderson in the Round 6 slot says they were not listening. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick249 Rnd7 Baylor Cupp
Baylor Cupp at slot 249 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
