Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
The Bills won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: B.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Bills reached some 40 spots for Jordan Jefferson, and value like that does not grow back. The bottom line is a respectable B.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They will answer for taking cornerback early while linebacker went begging. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped linebacker, which is a strange place to end up.

The Keegan steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but linebacker.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Tyler Nubin
Tyler Nubin in pick 31 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick60 Rnd2 Xavier Legette
A reach for Xavier Legette in the 60th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick94 Rnd3 Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson is a better player than slot 94 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick124 Rnd4 Sataoa Laumea
A slide stopped in the Round 4 slot, with Sataoa Laumea worth more than the price. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick128 Rnd4 Mohamed Kamara
By-the-book stuff, Mohamed Kamara at the 128th pick squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick134 Rnd4 Jarrian Jones
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Jarrian Jones at cornerback with linebacker open.
Pick144 Rnd5 Jordan Jefferson
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jordan Jefferson this early at Round 5, Pick 8. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick160 Rnd5 Trevor Keegan
Trevor Keegan at pick 160 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick163 Rnd5 Jordan Travis
They went early on Jordan Travis in pick No. 163, and the value did not follow. It fills a real need, too.
Pick189 Rnd6 Kendall Milton
Kendall Milton at the Round 6 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. The roster fit checks out.
Pick200 Rnd6 Trey Knox
Trey Knox at No. 200 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick204 Rnd6 M.J. Devonshire
Nice patience on M.J. Devonshire, who had no business lasting to the 204th overall pick. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick232 Rnd7 Richard Jibunor
A wild overpay on Richard Jibunor in the 232nd pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. This was not a hole anyone had circled.
Pick248 Rnd7 Bub Means
Bub Means at slot 248 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
