The tape said wait; the Bears did not. Graham Mertz went at the 235th pick, a good 131 picks before the board was ready. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Skattebo. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
