The Bills did not so much draft Fadil Diggs as overpay for him, 60 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

Getting Emmanwori where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. It is not that Dotson is a bad player; it is that the Bills had louder needs to answer first.

They will regret leaving linebacker for another day if the season turns on it.
