Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Bills: B.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Bills took Clay Webb a full 66 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. No fireworks, but a solid B.

That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Kenneth Grant
In No. 30 they get a wrecking ball inside, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick56 Rnd2 Xavier Watts
Xavier Watts at the 56th overall pick is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick62 Rnd2 Jayden Higgins
Jayden Higgins in slot 62 is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick108 Rnd4 Zy Alexander
Steal is underselling it; Zy Alexander at pick 108 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick131 Rnd4 Cam Skattebo
They will replay Cam Skattebo at the 131st pick for years; that is how good the value is. It fills a real need, too.
Pick171 Rnd5 Nohl Williams
They took Nohl Williams at par in the Round 5 slot, which is nothing to complain about. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick175 Rnd5 Anthony Belton
Anthony Belton in Round 5, Pick 36 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick179 Rnd6 Clay Webb
A big swing on Clay Webb at pick No. 179, well ahead of any board in the building. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick206 Rnd6 Teddye Buchanan
They reached a country mile for Teddye Buchanan at pick 206, and the board is aghast. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick208 Rnd6 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
The board fumbled Dont'e Thornton Jr. all the way to the 208th pick, and they scooped it up. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
