Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB FutureC
The Raiders found their guy under center in Moore: B.

They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Dante Moore is the Raiders' quarterback, full stop.

However the rest shakes out, Fifita at that price is a win they earned. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Dante Moore
In the 2nd overall pick they get a passer to set the clock by. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick27 Rnd1 Carnell Tate
In pick No. 27 they get a true top target, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick57 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
A quiet steal in slot 57: Jake Slaughter for less than the market said. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick91 Rnd3 Keith Abney II
A tidy bit of business in Round 3, Pick 27, where Keith Abney II graded well above the range. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick140 Rnd4 Blake Miller
Blake Miller at No. 140 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick173 Rnd5 Aaron Anderson
They took Aaron Anderson at par in the Round 5 slot, which is nothing to complain about. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick183 Rnd6 Terion Stewart
Terion Stewart at the 183rd pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the running back. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick187 Rnd6 CJ Daniels
Nice patience on CJ Daniels, who had no business lasting to pick 187. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick217 Rnd7 Cam Calhoun
No drama and no debate, Cam Calhoun went about where he belonged in pick No. 217. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick257 Rnd7 Noah Fifita
Noah Fifita in pick 257 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
