Draft Grade — Panthers
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB+ FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Panthers for Muhammad III: B.

You could see the war room lean forward. Moose Muhammad III at Round 7, Pick 2 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

That linebacker hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick33 Rnd2 Dallas Turner
They let Dallas Turner come to them and pounced at No. 33. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick69 Rnd3 Patrick Paul
They robbed the room for Patrick Paul here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick101 Rnd4 Braelon Allen
Braelon Allen in the 101st overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick138 Rnd5 Jaheim Bell
By-the-book stuff, Jaheim Bell at pick 138 squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick142 Rnd5 Nehemiah Pritchett
Nehemiah Pritchett at Round 5, Pick 6 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick168 Rnd5 Tre Harris
A straight-up fair deal on Tre Harris at pick No. 168, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick182 Rnd6 Lathan Ransom
Nice patience on Lathan Ransom, who had no business lasting to the Round 6 slot. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick222 Rnd7 Moose Muhammad III
They barely believed it either: Moose Muhammad III still on the board at the 222nd pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
