Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesC+ FutureB
Best value of the weekend goes to the Cowboys for Henderson: B.

Somebody in slot 76 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Cowboys sat still while TreVeyon Henderson, the No. 55 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The cost of the Conner reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 Kenneth Grant
In No. 14 they get a wrecking ball inside, even if it was a touch early.
Pick44 Rnd2 Jalon Walker
Steal is underselling it; Jalon Walker at pick No. 44 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick76 Rnd3 TreVeyon Henderson
They barely believed it either: TreVeyon Henderson still on the board at Round 3, Pick 12. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick117 Rnd4 Tai Felton
Tai Felton in the 117th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick149 Rnd5 O'Donnell Fortune
A straight-up fair deal on O'Donnell Fortune at pick 149, value and slot in agreement. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick171 Rnd5 Jaylen Reed
A real head-scratcher, Jaylen Reed in the 171st overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick174 Rnd5 Jack Nelson
By-the-book stuff, Jack Nelson at the Round 5 slot squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick204 Rnd6 Tahj Brooks
A reasonable price with a little left over, Tahj Brooks in slot 204. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick211 Rnd6 R.J. Mickens
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on R.J. Mickens. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick239 Rnd7 Zeek Biggers
Zeek Biggers at Round 7, Pick 23 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick247 Rnd7 Hayden Conner
Value said wait; Hayden Conner in the 247th overall pick says they were not listening. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
