Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureA
Larceny in No. 62 lands the Browns a B+, Ioane and all.

Thirty-one other rooms let Olaivavega Ioane slide, and the Browns were the ones holding the card at No. 62. Highway robbery. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

Fields has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Monroe Freeling
In No. 24 they get a blindside protector, though the board says they badly overpaid.
Pick30 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In Round 1, Pick 30 they get a green-dot type in the middle, and a steal at that. Need was not the driver here.
Pick39 Rnd2 Malachi Fields
Malachi Fields in the Round 2 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick49 Rnd2 Germie Bernard
Value said wait; Germie Bernard in the 49th pick says they were not listening. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick62 Rnd2 Olaivavega Ioane
Olaivavega Ioane at the 62nd overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick70 Rnd3 Jake Slaughter
Jake Slaughter in pick 70 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick107 Rnd4 Zakee Wheatley
A safety of that caliber at slot 107 is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick108 Rnd4 Daylen Everette
Nice patience on Daylen Everette, who had no business lasting to pick No. 108. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick130 Rnd4 Jude Bowry
The board had Jude Bowry higher than pick No. 130, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. The roster fit checks out.
Pick139 Rnd5 Drew Allar
No drama and no debate, Drew Allar went about where he belonged in pick 139. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick144 Rnd5 Michael Trigg
Circle this one: Michael Trigg at the 144th pick is a fall that decides a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick147 Rnd5 DeMonte Capehart
They did well to land DeMonte Capehart in slot 147, just ahead of his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick204 Rnd6 Charles Jagusah
Charles Jagusah in the 204th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick234 Rnd7 Isaiah Nwokobia
They let Isaiah Nwokobia come to them and pounced at the Round 7 slot. It fills a real need, too.
Pick248 Rnd7 Nick Barrett
They went early on Nick Barrett in Round 7, Pick 32, and the value did not follow. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
