The tape said wait; the Bears did not. Graham Mertz went at pick 242, a good 125 picks before the board was ready.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Lacy. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Adding Jordan Morgan by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
