Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B for the Bills.

The rest of the league had time to spare on Jasheen Davis; the Bills did not wait, grabbing him 142 spots ahead at the 175th overall pick. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

That Stutsman pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. The roster is better shaped than it was, with linebacker chief among the fixes.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Kenneth Grant
In No. 30 they get a load in the middle at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick56 Rnd2 Tre Harris
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tre Harris at Round 2, Pick 24 is the proof. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick62 Rnd2 Malaki Starks
Taking Malaki Starks in pick No. 62 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. It fills a real need, too.
Pick107 Rnd4 Deone Walker
They will replay Deone Walker at pick 107 for years; that is how good the value is. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick130 Rnd4 Nick Nash
Nick Nash at the 130th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick169 Rnd5 Kalel Mullings
You do not let a running back like Kalel Mullings reach slot 169 and blink. They did not. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick172 Rnd5 Hayden Conner
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Hayden Conner. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick175 Rnd5 Jasheen Davis
A real head-scratcher, Jasheen Davis in Round 5, Pick 38 is miles ahead of his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick202 Rnd6 Danny Stutsman
Somehow Danny Stutsman was still sitting there in pick 202, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick204 Rnd6 Nohl Williams
They left a pile of value on the table to take Nohl Williams this early at the 204th pick. A minor need, but a need all the same.
