Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Bills: B-.

There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Bills started one anyway for Trey Wedig, 97 picks ahead of schedule. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

However the rest shakes out, Mullings at that price is a win they earned. Leaving linebacker unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Mike Green
In the Round 1 slot they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick56 Rnd2 Alfred Collins
No edge and no loss on Alfred Collins in Round 2, Pick 24; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick62 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori at the 62nd pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick108 Rnd4 Sebastian Castro
They read the board right and Sebastian Castro was the payoff at pick 108. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick131 Rnd4 Dorian Strong
They left a pile of value on the table to take Dorian Strong this early at the 131st overall pick. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick171 Rnd5 Kalel Mullings
Somehow Kalel Mullings was still sitting there in pick No. 171, and they pounced on premier running back value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick175 Rnd5 Ja'Corey Brooks
They reached a country mile for Ja'Corey Brooks at pick No. 175, and the board is aghast. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick179 Rnd6 Ricky White III
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Ricky White III well ahead of where he belonged. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick206 Rnd6 Trey Wedig
They talked themselves into Trey Wedig at the Round 6 slot, and the board did not agree. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick208 Rnd6 Miles Frazier
Value said wait; Miles Frazier in the 208th overall pick says they were not listening. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
