Truckley45 DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B
ValueA-
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
Grand theft in pick 183: the Seahawks steal Iamaleava and grade out a B. Somebody in slot 183 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Seahawks sat still while Nico Iamaleava, the No. 161 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
In pick No. 31 they get a three-down second-level presence, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick63
Rnd2
Elijah Sarratt
The board had Elijah Sarratt higher than the Round 2 slot, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick95
Rnd3
Keith Abney II
Keith Abney II at the 95th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick183
Rnd6
Nico Iamaleava
Taking Nico Iamaleava in the 183rd pick is close to grand larceny; a quarterback that good had no business lasting this long. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
