Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Jets left with their quarterback, and a B- to match.

After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Jets committed. Fernando Mendoza is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

Landing Leavitt that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The White pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Fernando Mendoza
In the 5th overall pick they get a passer to set the clock by, even if it was a touch early. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick32 Rnd1 David Bailey
David Bailey at the Round 1 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick36 Rnd2 KC Concepcion
A straight-up fair deal on KC Concepcion at slot 36, value and slot in agreement. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick44 Rnd2 Anthony Hill Jr.
Nothing to complain about; Anthony Hill Jr. went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick105 Rnd4 Sam Leavitt
Somehow Sam Leavitt was still sitting there in the 105th pick, and they pounced on premier quarterback value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick178 Rnd5 Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun is a better player than No. 178 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick192 Rnd6 Earnest Greene III
Fair-plus on Earnest Greene III, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The roster fit checks out.
Pick202 Rnd6 Isaiah Nwokobia
Isaiah Nwokobia at pick No. 202 is a conviction pick that outran the value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick208 Rnd6 Makhi Hughes
They paid sticker price for Makhi Hughes in No. 208, and that is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick237 Rnd7 DeAndre Moore Jr.
DeAndre Moore Jr. slid further than he should have, and the Round 7 slot is lovely value for the wide receiver. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick253 Rnd7 Jordan White
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jordan White in pick 253, miles early. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick254 Rnd7 Lawson Luckie
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Lawson Luckie. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
