Truckley45 DRAFTING FOR THEBuccaneers

Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall

Good, not great, for the Buccaneers: B-. You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Buccaneers did exactly that with Trey Moore in the Round 5 slot.
For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Matayo Uiagalelei
In the 23rd pick they get juice off the edge. A real need, handled.
Pick54
Rnd2
CJ Allen
Good price on CJ Allen in pick No. 54, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick85
Rnd3
Max Klare
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Max Klare at pick 85 is the proof. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick124
Rnd4
Deion Burks
The board had Deion Burks higher than the 124th overall pick, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. It fills a real need, too.
Pick163
Rnd5
Trey Moore
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Trey Moore. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick200
Rnd6
Le'Veon Moss
Nothing to complain about; Le'Veon Moss went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The roster fit checks out.
Pick235
Rnd7
Trey Zuhn III
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Trey Zuhn III. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
