Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall C-
ValueB+ NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Ravens won the night they stopped Jackson from sliding. Grade: C-.

You could see the war room lean forward. Donovan Jackson at No. 136 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

In the end, one you will need a couple of seasons to truly judge.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Mykel Williams
In No. 22 they get a disruptor off the edge at fair value.
Pick27 Rnd1 Armand Membou
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get a cornerstone up front at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick59 Rnd2 Walter Nolen
They will replay Walter Nolen at the 59th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick91 Rnd3 Tre Harris
Steal is underselling it; Tre Harris at pick 91 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick136 Rnd4 Donovan Jackson
They barely believed it either: Donovan Jackson still on the board at the Round 4 slot. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick178 Rnd5 Jay Higgins
A linebacker of that caliber at slot 178 is the definition of value, full stop. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick205 Rnd6 Jason Marshall Jr.
Jason Marshall Jr. is a better player than pick No. 205 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick213 Rnd6 Akili Arnold
Nothing to complain about; Akili Arnold went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick245 Rnd7 Tonka Hemingway
A reach for Tonka Hemingway in the Round 7 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
