Draft Grade — Titans
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A passer of the future in Ward, and a B-, for the Titans.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Titans spent their marquee pick on Cam Ward, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it. They will need Kiser to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

The Belton pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Cam Ward
In pick 1 they get a passer to set the clock by. A real need, handled.
Pick35 Rnd2 Benjamin Morrison
The board had cheaper options than Benjamin Morrison at the 35th overall pick, and it noticed. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick103 Rnd4 Ashton Gillotte
A reasonable price with a little left over, Ashton Gillotte in pick No. 103. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick120 Rnd4 Anthony Belton
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Anthony Belton at the Round 4 slot is the proof. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick141 Rnd5 Pat Bryant
Pat Bryant at slot 141 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick167 Rnd5 Jack Kiser
A reach for Jack Kiser in Round 5, Pick 29; a little patience would have been rewarded. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick178 Rnd6 Willie Lampkin
Willie Lampkin at the 178th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick188 Rnd6 Oronde Gadsden II
They took Oronde Gadsden II at par in No. 188, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
