Draft Grade — Saints
Overall
B
ValueB

TradesB-
FutureB-
A passer of the future in Simpson, and a B, for the Saints. Start where it matters. The Saints took Ty Simpson to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. The Delane value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Ty Simpson
They paid sticker price for Ty Simpson in the 3rd pick, and that is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick37
Rnd2
Mansoor Delane
A slide stopped in the 37th overall pick, with Mansoor Delane worth more than the price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick68
Rnd3
Germie Bernard
A clean, defensible pick in slot 68 with a little surplus value in Germie Bernard. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
