Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B
ValueB- NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
The Seahawks robbed the room for Burden III. Final grade: B.

The board owed the Seahawks one, and it paid up: Luther Burden III, the No. 22 name on the board, sitting there at the 52nd pick like a gift left on the doorstep. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

They will need Booker to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Leaving linebacker unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but linebacker.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Tyler Booker
In No. 18 they get a blindside protector, though the board says they badly overpaid. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick50 Rnd2 Princely Umanmielen
A tidy bit of business in slot 50, where Princely Umanmielen graded well above the range. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick52 Rnd2 Luther Burden III
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Luther Burden III in the 52nd pick, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick82 Rnd3 Quinn Ewers
Quinn Ewers at Round 3, Pick 18 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick92 Rnd3 Ozzy Trapilo
Ozzy Trapilo at the Round 3 slot is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick137 Rnd4 Mitchell Evans
A reach on Mitchell Evans in the 137th overall pick; the board had better options right there. A need, and now a little less of one.
