Draft Grade — Saints
Overall B
ValueB NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the Saints.

For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Saints walked out of the weekend still thin at quarterback, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

They banked enough surplus on Swinson to cover a lot of smaller sins. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered. They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 Will Johnson
In No. 9 they get a potential shutdown corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick40 Rnd2 Josh Conerly Jr.
Fair-plus on Josh Conerly Jr., a quiet win that adds up over a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick71 Rnd3 Bradyn Swinson
A quiet steal in pick 71: Bradyn Swinson for less than the market said. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick93 Rnd3 Devin Neal
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Devin Neal at the Round 3 slot is the proof. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick112 Rnd4 Chimere Dike
Good price on Chimere Dike in pick No. 112, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick131 Rnd4 Rylie Mills
Rylie Mills at Round 4, Pick 29 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
