Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB+ FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Ravens: B.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Ravens reached some 76 spots for Ethan Onianwa, and value like that does not grow back. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Johnson. That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Peter Woods
In Round 1, Pick 31 they get a double-digit-sack hope at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick65 Rnd3 Caleb Tiernan
Caleb Tiernan at the Round 3 slot is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick95 Rnd3 Adepoju Adebawore
They reached a country mile for Adepoju Adebawore at No. 95, and the board is aghast. The roster fit checks out.
Pick120 Rnd4 Daylen Everette
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Daylen Everette at the 120th pick is the proof. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick131 Rnd4 Lee Hunter
This one needs a full-page explanation: Lee Hunter in pick No. 131, miles early. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick143 Rnd5 Patrick Payton
They left a pile of value on the table to take Patrick Payton this early at slot 143. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick170 Rnd5 Mark Fletcher Jr.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Mark Fletcher Jr. in pick No. 170. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick172 Rnd5 DJ Campbell
Value said wait; DJ Campbell in Round 5, Pick 34 says they were not listening. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick175 Rnd5 Ethan Onianwa
Ethan Onianwa in pick 175 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick233 Rnd7 Shamar Porter
By-the-book stuff, Shamar Porter at No. 233 squarely in line with his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick244 Rnd7 Haynes King
Haynes King at the 244th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick246 Rnd7 Dijon Johnson
The board fumbled Dijon Johnson all the way to slot 246, and they scooped it up. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
