Shaun80 DRAFTING FOR THERavens
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall
B+
ValueA+
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Ravens for Green: B+. The Ravens did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Cayden Green fell into pick 244.
For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Francis Mauigoa
Circle this one: Francis Mauigoa at No. 31 is a fall that decides a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick63
Rnd2
Caleb Downs
Caleb Downs at the Round 2 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick95
Rnd3
Spencer Fano
Steal is underselling it; Spencer Fano at slot 95 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick131
Rnd4
LT Overton
Somehow LT Overton was still sitting there in the 131st overall pick, and they pounced on premier edge rusher value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick143
Rnd5
Dani Dennis-Sutton
A top-tier edge rusher at a bargain, Dani Dennis-Sutton in Round 5, Pick 5, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick170
Rnd5
Cade Klubnik
Cade Klubnik in pick 170 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The roster fit checks out.
Pick172
Rnd5
Jermod McCoy
Jermod McCoy in pick No. 172 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick175
Rnd5
Nicholas Singleton
The board fumbled Nicholas Singleton all the way to the 175th pick, and they scooped it up. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick244
Rnd7
Cayden Green
You do not let an offensive lineman like Cayden Green reach the 244th overall pick and blink. They did not. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick246
Rnd7
DeMonte Capehart
They barely believed it either: DeMonte Capehart still on the board at Round 7, Pick 30. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
