Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB TradesB- FutureB
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Ravens: B-.

There is reaching, and then there is Tywone Malone Jr. at the 210th pick. The Ravens jumped the board by 190 and dared it to prove them wrong. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Makhi Hughes
In Round 1, Pick 31 they get an every-down engine for the run game, and a steal at that.
Pick63 Rnd2 Domani Jackson
A cornerback of that caliber at slot 63 is the definition of value, full stop. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick106 Rnd4 Mark Fletcher Jr.
They reached a country mile for Mark Fletcher Jr. at the Round 4 slot, and the board is aghast. It fills a real need, too.
Pick119 Rnd4 Cashius Howell
This one needs a full-page explanation: Cashius Howell in the 119th pick, miles early. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick139 Rnd5 Trey Zuhn III
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Trey Zuhn III. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick158 Rnd5 Semaj Morgan
Semaj Morgan in No. 158 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick170 Rnd5 Jacobe Johnson
Jacobe Johnson at Round 5, Pick 32 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick172 Rnd5 Evan Tengesdahl
Evan Tengesdahl in pick 172 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick175 Rnd5 Jalen Thompson
A real head-scratcher, Jalen Thompson in the Round 5 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick209 Rnd6 Khalil Barnes
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Khalil Barnes well ahead of where he belonged. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick210 Rnd6 Tywone Malone Jr.
Tywone Malone Jr. at pick No. 210 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick219 Rnd7 Kyron Drones
A big swing on Kyron Drones at the 219th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick244 Rnd7 Dylan Edwards
No edge and no loss on Dylan Edwards in slot 244; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick246 Rnd7 Ethan Onianwa
Ethan Onianwa in the 246th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick254 Rnd7 Cade Denhoff
A wild overpay on Cade Denhoff in Round 7, Pick 38, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The roster fit checks out.
