Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B-
ValueD+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB+
The Ravens did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

The Ravens bet big and early on Cade Denhoff, 168 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. The Williams steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick61 Rnd2 Caleb Lomu
A straight-up fair deal on Caleb Lomu at Round 2, Pick 29, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick63 Rnd2 Nicholas Singleton
Nicholas Singleton in the 63rd overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick87 Rnd3 Charles Jagusah
A real head-scratcher, Charles Jagusah in the 87th pick is miles ahead of his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick95 Rnd3 Gabe Jacas
A tidy little value on Gabe Jacas in the Round 3 slot, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick118 Rnd4 Tacario Davis
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Tacario Davis in No. 118. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick129 Rnd4 Patrick Payton
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Patrick Payton well ahead of where he belonged. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick131 Rnd4 Bear Alexander
Bear Alexander at the 131st pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick157 Rnd5 Tree Babalade
Tree Babalade in pick 157 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick170 Rnd5 Trey Leckner
A big swing on Trey Leckner at pick No. 170, well ahead of any board in the building. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick172 Rnd5 Zach Rice
This one needs a full-page explanation: Zach Rice in No. 172, miles early. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick175 Rnd5 Elliot Washington II
A wild overpay on Elliot Washington II in the 175th overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick201 Rnd6 Cormani McClain
Cormani McClain at slot 201 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick209 Rnd6 Hykeem Williams
Value with a capital V on Hykeem Williams in Round 6, Pick 33, a genuine coup. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick244 Rnd7 Ethan Onianwa
No edge and no loss on Ethan Onianwa in the Round 7 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick246 Rnd7 Cade Denhoff
Cade Denhoff at the 246th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The roster fit checks out.
