Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B+
ValueA+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Ravens let Sapp fall into their laps, and walked away with a B+.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Ravens watched Tyreak Sapp slide 210 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. The bottom line is a respectable B+.

Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Kadyn Proctor
In Round 1, Pick 31 they get a blindside protector, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick64 Rnd2 LT Overton
You do not let an edge rusher like LT Overton reach the 64th pick and blink. They did not. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick95 Rnd3 Jermod McCoy
Taking Jermod McCoy in pick No. 95 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick131 Rnd4 Nicholas Singleton
They will replay Nicholas Singleton at pick 131 for years; that is how good the value is. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick143 Rnd5 Zane Durant
Zane Durant in slot 143 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick170 Rnd5 Eric Singleton Jr.
A wide receiver of that caliber at No. 170 is the definition of value, full stop. The roster fit checks out.
Pick172 Rnd5 Cade Klubnik
Circle this one: Cade Klubnik at the 172nd overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick175 Rnd5 Cayden Green
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Cayden Green in the Round 5 slot, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick217 Rnd7 Charles Jagusah
Charles Jagusah in the 217th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick222 Rnd7 Joe Royer
Joe Royer at the Round 7 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick244 Rnd7 Tyreak Sapp
The board fumbled Tyreak Sapp all the way to No. 244, and they scooped it up. It fills a real need, too.
Pick246 Rnd7 Michael Taaffe
They robbed the room for Michael Taaffe here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
