A respectable, level-headed haul for the Ravens: B-.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Ravens spent Round 3, Pick 4 on Eric O'Neill, a name the board had a full 103 spots lower. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Kadyn Proctor
In pick No. 6 they get a cornerstone up front at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick37 Rnd2 A.J. Harris
They read the board right and A.J. Harris was the payoff at Round 2, Pick 5. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick68 Rnd3 Eric O'Neill
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Eric O'Neill well ahead of where he belonged. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick110 Rnd4 Demond Claiborne
Demond Claiborne in slot 110 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It fills a real need, too.
Pick140 Rnd5 Aamil Wagner
They robbed the room for Aamil Wagner here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick148 Rnd5 Patrick Payton
Patrick Payton at No. 148 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick175 Rnd5 Bear Alexander
Bear Alexander at slot 175 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick176 Rnd5 Earnest Greene III
A reasonable price with a little left over, Earnest Greene III in Round 5, Pick 37. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick251 Rnd7 Johntay Cook II
They reached into another round for Johntay Cook II, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
