Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Ravens: B-.

Nobody had Cormani McClain this high, and it is not close. The Ravens reached 49 spots to get him at Round 7, Pick 28. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. On value alone, Hill Jr. makes the weekend a net positive. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Nothing gained and nothing lost at the table.

Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Anthony Hill Jr.
They robbed the room for Anthony Hill Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick63 Rnd2 David Bailey
They went early on David Bailey in slot 63, and the value did not follow. It fills a real need, too.
Pick95 Rnd3 Monroe Freeling
Monroe Freeling in Round 3, Pick 31 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick131 Rnd4 DJ Harvey
The board had DJ Harvey higher than pick 131, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick172 Rnd5 A'Marion Peterson
A wild overpay on A'Marion Peterson in pick No. 172, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick175 Rnd5 Bear Alexander
Bear Alexander at No. 175 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick181 Rnd6 Jordan White
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jordan White. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick209 Rnd6 Riley Mahlman
No drama and no debate, Riley Mahlman went about where he belonged in No. 209. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick216 Rnd6 Jack Velling
Jack Velling at the 216th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick244 Rnd7 Cormani McClain
Cormani McClain in pick No. 244 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick246 Rnd7 Kyron Drones
This one needs a full-page explanation: Kyron Drones in Round 7, Pick 30, miles early. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
