A sensible, unshowy class lands the Panthers a B-.

You can draft well and still miss the point. The Panthers did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to edge rusher, which was the need that mattered most.

They are betting Bond proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

In No. 8 they get a coverage-and-run second-level piece, though they paid up to get him. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick57 Rnd2 Isaiah Bond
Isaiah Bond at slot 57 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick74 Rnd3 Barrett Carter
Barrett Carter in the Round 3 slot is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
