Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Miller should have been long gone. The Steelers pounced, and earned a B-.

The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Christen Miller, the 52nd overall pick, roughly 29 picks past where he belonged. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Steelers indulged a want in Freeling while a need in quarterback and safety stayed open. They left with interior defensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick19 Rnd1 Avieon Terrell
In slot 19 they get a ballhawk on the outside. A real need, handled.
Pick52 Rnd2 Christen Miller
Christen Miller in the 52nd pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick79 Rnd3 Eric Singleton Jr.
Nothing to complain about; Eric Singleton Jr. went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick83 Rnd3 Xavier Chaplin
They took Xavier Chaplin at par in the Round 3 slot, which is nothing to complain about. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick99 Rnd3 Suntarine Perkins
Suntarine Perkins at No. 99 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick120 Rnd4 Monroe Freeling
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Monroe Freeling at offensive lineman with quarterback and safety open.
Pick133 Rnd4 Jadarian Price
They paid sticker price for Jadarian Price in pick 133, and that is fine. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick159 Rnd5 Duce Robinson
A tidy little value on Duce Robinson in Round 5, Pick 19, a step better than break-even. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick181 Rnd5 Oscar Delp
No edge and no loss on Oscar Delp in Round 5, Pick 41; it is a wash and a sensible one. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick201 Rnd6 Quintrevion Wisner
Quintrevion Wisner at No. 201 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick214 Rnd6 Raylen Wilson
Good price on Raylen Wilson in pick 214, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The roster fit checks out.
Pick234 Rnd7 Barion Brown
A straight-up fair deal on Barion Brown at the 234th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
