The Lions looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Donovan Ezeiruaku at pick No. 28 regardless, 25 picks early. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

That safety hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
