austinrwilliams2005 DRAFTING FOR THEJaguars
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Jaguars: B. Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Terrance Ferguson at slot 70 is 44 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Ayomanor. For all the activity, safety went untouched, which is hard to explain.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick5
Rnd1
Mason Graham
In Round 1, Pick 5 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick36
Rnd2
Shavon Revel Jr.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Shavon Revel Jr. at the Round 2 slot. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick70
Rnd3
Terrance Ferguson
They talked themselves into Terrance Ferguson at the 70th overall pick, and the board did not agree. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick88
Rnd3
Elic Ayomanor
Elic Ayomanor in the 88th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick107
Rnd4
Miles Frazier
Miles Frazier in No. 107 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick126
Rnd4
Emery Jones Jr.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Emery Jones Jr. in pick No. 126. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
