Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B-

More right than wrong for the Dolphins, and a B- to prove it.

The war room fell hard for Jackson Slater, and it showed at pick 116: 32 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Landing McCord that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes. The back end got a real overhaul.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick13 Rnd1 Nick Emmanwori
In the 13th pick they get a centerfielder for the defense at fair value.
Pick48 Rnd2 Wyatt Milum
A tidy bit of business in pick 48, where Wyatt Milum graded well above the range. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick98 Rnd3 Deone Walker
Deone Walker at slot 98 is money in the bank, a interior defensive lineman taken below his worth. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick116 Rnd4 Jackson Slater
Jackson Slater at Round 4, Pick 14 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick135 Rnd4 Kyle McCord
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kyle McCord at No. 135. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
