Taaffe should have been long gone. The Cowboys pounced, and earned a B.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Cowboys were there to profit. Michael Taaffe, the No. 54 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 112th overall pick.

They will need Womack to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
