Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B
ValueA- NeedA- TradesB- FutureC+
Larceny in Round 6, Pick 4 lands the Seahawks a B, Williams and all.

You build a draft on nights like this. James Williams had no business being available in the 179th pick, and the Seahawks did the only sane thing and turned in the card. The bottom line is a respectable B.

The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Zinter reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Dallas Turner
In No. 25 they get a bendy edge with upside, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick58 Rnd2 Ja'Tavion Sanders
Taking Ja'Tavion Sanders in pick 58 is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick81 Rnd3 Patrick Paul
Patrick Paul slipping to the 81st pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick93 Rnd3 Zak Zinter
They paid up for Zak Zinter at Round 3, Pick 30 when waiting would have done the job. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick179 Rnd6 James Williams
They will replay James Williams at the Round 6 slot for years; that is how good the value is. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
