Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB+ FutureB-
The Bears left with their quarterback, and a B to match.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Bears spent their marquee pick on Caleb Williams, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.

The Robinson pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In the Round 1 slot they get a franchise quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick14 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In pick 14 they get a difference-maker at receiver at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick45 Rnd2 Kamren Kinchens
Kamren Kinchens is a better player than No. 45 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick75 Rnd3 Sedrick Van Pran
They went early on Sedrick Van Pran in Round 3, Pick 11, and the value did not follow. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick110 Rnd4 Ray Davis
Ray Davis at slot 110 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick122 Rnd4 Justin Eboigbe
They paid sticker price for Justin Eboigbe in the 122nd overall pick, and that is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick146 Rnd5 Layden Robinson
Layden Robinson in pick No. 146 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The roster fit checks out.
Pick152 Rnd5 Edefuan Ulofoshio
Edefuan Ulofoshio at the 152nd pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick176 Rnd6 Andru Phillips
Andru Phillips at pick 176 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
