A sensible, unshowy class lands the Commanders a B-.

For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Commanders walked out of the weekend still thin at wide receiver, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

Every board in the league had Williams lower, and that gap is the story. On the needs board they went 3 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick29 Rnd1 Nic Scourton
In the 29th overall pick they get juice off the edge at fair value.
Pick61 Rnd2 Dylan Sampson
No drama and no debate, Dylan Sampson went about where he belonged in No. 61. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick128 Rnd4 Jonas Sanker
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jonas Sanker. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick205 Rnd6 Jalen McLeod
They paid sticker price for Jalen McLeod in the 205th pick, and that is fine. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick245 Rnd7 John Williams
They talked themselves into John Williams at Round 7, Pick 29, and the board did not agree. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
