You could see the war room lean forward. Frank Gore Jr. at the 186th pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

They will need Haynes to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They punted on cornerback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
