Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall C+
ValueD+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The jury is out on the Bengals. For now, C+.

The Bengals spent real capital to be 68 picks early on Trey Moore, and the board is going to hold them to it. Call it a C+ and check back in two years.

The Moore pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at tight end, offensive lineman and other spots. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.

In the end, one you will need a couple of seasons to truly judge.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Mikail Kamara
In pick No. 25 they get a bendy edge with upside, though the board says they badly overpaid. More want than need.
Pick57 Rnd2 Nyck Harbor
Good price on Nyck Harbor in slot 57, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick89 Rnd3 Dontay Corleone
A straight-up fair deal on Dontay Corleone at the 89th pick, value and slot in agreement. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick125 Rnd4 Trey Moore
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went edge rusher with Trey Moore while clear needs at tight end, offensive lineman and other spots sat open.
Pick164 Rnd5 Will Lee III
Will Lee III at Round 5, Pick 26 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick203 Rnd6 Thomas Collins
Thomas Collins in No. 203 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick238 Rnd7 Roman Hemby
Roman Hemby in No. 238 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick252 Rnd7 CJ Daniels
CJ Daniels in pick No. 252 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
