austinrwilliams2005 DRAFTING FOR THEBears
Draft Grade — Bears
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Bears, and a B to prove it. The one they had to fix is still broken. The Bears left edge rusher untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
The Noel value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Kelvin Banks Jr.
In pick 10 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value.
Pick39
Rnd2
Tyleik Williams
Tyleik Williams in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick41
Rnd2
Kaleb Johnson
Kaleb Johnson in Round 2, Pick 9 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick72
Rnd3
Jaylin Noel
A slide stopped in pick No. 72, with Jaylin Noel worth more than the price. A need, and now a little less of one.
