Best value of the weekend goes to the Jaguars for Slaughter: B-.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Jake Slaughter got past him. The Jaguars do not have to explain a thing at pick 88. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

The cost of the Crawford reach is exactly the players who went right after him. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

On the needs board they went 7 of 9, with wide receiver the one that mattered most. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
