MuNgOxPuNgO DRAFTING FOR THEGiants
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Giants
Overall
B

FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Giants: B. The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named interior defensive lineman, a need the Giants walked right past.
That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The cost of the Pride Jr. reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
They left with safety solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick Analysis
Pick5
Rnd1
Caleb Downs
In Round 1, Pick 5 they get a centerfielder for the defense. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick37
Rnd2
Olaivavega Ioane
Olaivavega Ioane slid further than he should have, and the 37th pick is lovely value for the offensive lineman. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick105
Rnd4
Caden Curry
No edge and no loss on Caden Curry in slot 105; it is a wash and a sensible one. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick143
Rnd5
Kage Casey
A straight-up fair deal on Kage Casey at No. 143, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick184
Rnd6
Tyren Montgomery
Value with a capital V on Tyren Montgomery in the Round 6 slot, a genuine coup. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick190
Rnd6
Josh Cameron
Fair-plus on Josh Cameron, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick191
Rnd6
Toriano Pride Jr.
Toriano Pride Jr. in the 191st overall pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
