Sanders should have been long gone. The Patriots pounced, and earned a B-.

Somebody in the 219th overall pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Patriots sat still while Raheim Sanders, the No. 146 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Reaching for Webb left real value on the table behind him. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
