Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B
ValueA-
NeedB+
TradesC+
FutureB
The Seahawks checked most of the boxes and earned a B. You can hear the double-takes from here. The Seahawks took Bryce Foster at No. 207, roughly 32 spots before his name belonged. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
However the rest shakes out, Slaughter at that price is a win they earned. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
In No. 32 they get the heartbeat of the defense at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick60
Rnd2
Jake Slaughter
They barely believed it either: Jake Slaughter still on the board at pick 60. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick96
Rnd3
D'Angelo Ponds
Value said wait; D'Angelo Ponds in the 96th overall pick says they were not listening. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick132
Rnd4
Bryce Lance
They did well to land Bryce Lance in the Round 4 slot, just ahead of his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick207
Rnd6
Bryce Foster
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Bryce Foster. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
