More right than wrong for the Jets, and a B- to prove it.

You build a draft on nights like this. Tyler Warren had no business being available in the 42nd overall pick, and the Jets did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

They will need Williams to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.

They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Will Campbell
In No. 7 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value.
Pick42 Rnd2 Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren at pick 42 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick73 Rnd3 Alfred Collins
They let Alfred Collins come to them and pounced at No. 73. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick110 Rnd4 Darius Alexander
Darius Alexander slid further than he should have, and the 110th pick is lovely value for the interior defensive lineman. The roster fit checks out.
Pick145 Rnd5 Kyle Williams
Kyle Williams at the Round 5 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick171 Rnd5 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
They paid a round early for Dont'e Thornton Jr. in Round 5, Pick 33, more than the board wanted. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick186 Rnd6 Ajani Cornelius
Ajani Cornelius at pick No. 186 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. It fills a real need, too.
Pick207 Rnd6 Joshua Gray
Joshua Gray at the 207th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick211 Rnd6 Thomas Fidone II
Nice patience on Thomas Fidone II, who had no business lasting to slot 211. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
