Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesD- FutureA+
The Jets let Shough fall into their laps, and walked away with a B-.

Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Jets, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Shough. They will need Riley to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
In the Round 1 slot they get a security blanket over the middle at a price that makes it sweeter. More want than need.
Pick42 Rnd2 Aireontae Ersery
Aireontae Ersery at slot 42 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick73 Rnd3 Omarr Norman-Lott
Omarr Norman-Lott in pick 73 is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick81 Rnd3 Jack Bech
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jack Bech in the 81st overall pick. It fills a real need, too.
Pick110 Rnd4 Kevin Winston Jr.
They let Kevin Winston Jr. come to them and pounced at pick No. 110. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick145 Rnd5 Logan Brown
They paid sticker price for Logan Brown in the 145th pick, and that is fine. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick162 Rnd5 Quincy Riley
A conviction pick on Quincy Riley at the Round 5 slot that the board grades a round light. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick166 Rnd5 Tyler Shough
Steal is underselling it; Tyler Shough at slot 166 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick186 Rnd6 JJ Pegues
By-the-book stuff, JJ Pegues at the 186th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick207 Rnd6 Luke Lachey
Luke Lachey in pick 207 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
