Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB+ FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Eagles for Alexander: B.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Darius Alexander tumbling to the Eagles in No. 169 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

They will need Fairchild to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Nic Scourton
In the Round 1 slot they get juice off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick68 Rnd3 Dylan Fairchild
This one needs a full-page explanation: Dylan Fairchild in the 68th overall pick, miles early. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick96 Rnd3 Barrett Carter
Nice patience on Barrett Carter, who had no business lasting to slot 96. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick144 Rnd5 Terrance Ferguson
You do not let a tight end like Terrance Ferguson reach Round 5, Pick 5 and blink. They did not. The roster fit checks out.
Pick158 Rnd5 Emery Jones Jr.
Taking Emery Jones Jr. in the 158th pick is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick162 Rnd5 Pat Bryant
A wide receiver of that caliber at No. 162 is the definition of value, full stop. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick169 Rnd5 Darius Alexander
Darius Alexander in pick 169 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick182 Rnd6 JJ Pegues
By-the-book stuff, JJ Pegues at pick No. 182 squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick210 Rnd6 Jordan Hancock
Value with a capital V on Jordan Hancock in the 210th overall pick, a genuine coup. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick241 Rnd7 Jacob Parrish
Jacob Parrish at No. 241 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
